One more spoon of Cough Syrup

While on my daily hunt of GIFS and Doctor Who, I realized maybe I should blog elsewhere for a minute or two. Have you heard of Kony? Yeah, THAT Kony. If you don't know who Kony is, Joseph Kony is a person that should be dead right now because of all the children that he's abducted and made into sex slaves and child soldiers. He started in Uganda, saying he was a christian and started the Lord's Resistance Army which was made up out of children with guns. He's on the top of the list of the ICC for all the 33 charges, 12 counts as crimes against humanity. This guy isn't good. If you want to know more about it, here's a 30 minute video about it, and even though it's a bit long it's really worth the watch. Please watch it and tell me what you think about it.

Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy

The film Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy did not win anything at the Oscars last night. What is this. Hugo and The Artist took all of the awards. I'm generally angered at this, but I'm quite happy that Benedict Cumberbatch was on screen for 2 seconds. My night was made by that. But when Gary Oldman didn't get an oscar for best male lead, I was finished(Even though his category was at the end).
Other than the Oscars, nothing really has been going on in my life. On Thursday, the photography class that I'm in went to a Skate Park and we took pictures of random people skateboarding. It was really fun watching people fall and then take pictures of their fail-ness. Maybe I should start editing those photos now.... Also, on Thursday, I was really sick. I had a cold that was shadowing over me and even at the moment it is trying to keep me down. On Saturday, I help my mom clean two houses and one house had a lot of dust in it and all the dust really got to me. So ever since Saturday, I've been having difficulty breathing and stuff. It's not cool, but I'll be alright.
I've had the Glee cover of "Cough Syrup" in my head for the past week or so. I've had it on repeat for the past few days and I regret nothing. :)
On another note, on Monday night at the WCCHE art show, I won first and second prize in the photography category. I guess that's big news.
Have a good week everyone!

Up to Date

I haven't blogged recently because well, I've been working on my presentation the day we were assigned to do a speech-presentation-thing. Meaning, I've been awake for so it seems 3 weeks. Lovely stuff, AMIRITE. What some of you may know, I have a sad addiction to cupcakes. Oh yes. Cupcakes. The love of my life, well, actually no. Sherlock is the love of my life. But back to cupcakes! A couple days ago with my photography class, we all went to this little dandy pastry store that has incredible cupcakes that are amazing in every way. I have been there a few times and they let me take photos with their knowing, but this time they wouldn't. As soon as we had our cameras out, the manager told us that we couldn't take photos and nearly kicked us out because we wanted to take photos. As much as I wanted to back hand that woman, I didn't. Because I'm a (slightly) nice person that doesn't want to bruise peoples faces with my pimp hand. Since she was ever so slightly sweet as cupcakes, she let the class take photos anyway. Such a bro.
Lemon cupcakes, white icing, and a lemon center. aaww yis.

I've fallen in love, fallen in love, fallen in looooovve with Sherlock Hooolllmeesss. BUT you already knew that so that's not any news at all.

For Valentine's Day at Homelink, the Japanese class has come up with a "Hugs and Kisses" thing where you make a valentine card thing and have someone deliver it for you on either Tuesday or Thursday. The fun part is that you can have someone sing to that person when they deliver the Valentine. The best part? I get to sing and embarrass people in the middle of class, holding their hand, and singing out of key. Their reaction? Priceless. This morning during a literature class, I had to sing for someone, which is normal, but I wanted to try out a different song than from the ones that are on the sheet(we get a sheet with little quirky songs on it and we pick which ones to sing). I chose to use the song "I want to Hold Your Hand" by The Beatles, which is one of my favorites, actually. After I distributed the other valentines, I went over to them, got down on one knee, and sang my heart out. They turned bright red and started scooch back slowly in their chair. Embarrassing someone? Check. Doing my job? Check. Having fun? Major check. I heard their face was red the rest of the class, too!

Your argument is invalid.

I turned 16. My best friend to town for a couple days and left. I found love with Mark Gatiss(Godtiss). Supernatural is slowly but surely scaring the living daylights out of me. My parents know how to throw a party. John Green is amazing at writing books. I think Martin Freeman should have won all the awards.

Comment and tell me what you like most about Valentine's Day! I like the dorky cards and half off candy. :)

Sherlock Anonymous

I have now realized that my love for BBC Sherlock is too much and is now almost ridiculously "hilarious to watch" and to some it's also called "obsessive". Wait, WHAT. No. My love for Sherlock is just like how every single one of my friends likes Doctor Who and Supernatural, they love it and enjoy each and every moment of it.... and maybe learn every line to every episode and keep a journal about the show to keep tabs just in case they forget something BUT other than they're totally "normal"! I should create the one and only Sherlock Anonymous, but then again who would want to go to the meetings? Sherlock is amazing in practically every way. Sherlock has Benedict Timothy Carlton Cumberbatch as Sherlock Holmes. Benedict is going to be the villain in the new Star Trek movie and is also going to be in The Hobbit movie. Martin Freeman who portrays John Watson, is going to be in The Hobbit movie, playing the lead Bilbo Baggins.
I MUST  say something that includes spoilers, but then again, if you've read all of the tales of Sherlock Holmes, this won't spoil a thing for you. In the second season, last episode, after Moriarty frames Sherlock and has everyone believe that Sherlock is a fake and Moriarty is just an actor he hired, *spoilers* Moriarty kills himself which puts the most beloved Mrs. Hudson and the adorable admirable John Watson in quite a lot of danger. Moriarty has snipers hidden and the only way to stop them is if Sherlock jumps off a building. Sherlock steps up on the ledge, looking down, John then arrives by taxi and Sherlock calls him telling him not to come up. Confused, John stays on the phone with Sherlock on the ground, waiting to see what Sherlock will do. Sherlock then tells John that he is a fraud and what everything he told John was fake and he made it all up. Sherlock then falls to his death, John tries to get to Sherlock because if you didn't know, John is a doctor.(Not The Doctor though) Tries to get to him, can't because of people blocking his way, Sherlock is sent off and is dead, they have the funeral a couple days later and stuff. Mrs. Hudson(Gosh, I love that lady) and John visit his grave, which is actually very pretty. They say a couple things, John says to the grave "The thing you could do right now... is not be dead." Once you thought the episode was over, you see Sherlock in the shadows watching John. A massive amount of tumblr had posts saying "I BELIEVE IN SHERLOCK" and "ALL MY CREEEYYYSSSS SHERLOCK", and my personal favorite, this gif:

It's Benedict Cumberbatch being angry at famous Doctor Who and Sherlock writer, Steven Moffat. Moffat is a troll and loves it when he drives fan over the edge because of something that he wrote in a show. Last time he drove people crazy, it was when no one knew who River Song was in Doctor Who. There's another writer though, Mark Gatiss, who people have nicknamed "Mark Godtiss" because he's such a beast writer that loves the fans of the shows. Nowadays, people think that they're trying to make the most loved consulting detectives, homosexual lovers. BUT that is quite impossible because Sherlock is supposed to be asexual or in love with Irene and John gets married... to a woman(Shocking, I know). Sherlock has to be one of the best shows I've ever seen and it honestly passes up Doctor Who. It's beautifully written, directed, and you can tell that Steven Moffat and Mark Gatiss with the whole crew really put much effort into the show. Brilliant. Brilliant. Brilliant. Sorry if this post is just jumbley-wumbley words that look as if they have any importance of some sorts.

Watson and Holmes. Ship it. SHIP IT.

Wisdom Teeth

Last Friday around 9am, I had to go and get my wisdom teeth taken out. Only my top wisdom teeth though, just because a couple years ago when I was 12, I had a surgery done on my teeth and I had to get my bottom wisdom teeth taken out while they did other things that I can not remember. Since I've done oral surgeries more than once, I knew how it went and yet I was still terrified for some reason. The nurse(who was really sweet), put the mask over me so I could inhale and exhale the gas that makes you feel all wibbley wobbley and all that jazz. Just even the thought of that stuff makes me shudder, and yes, I hate it just that much and I never want to think about it ever EVER again. I drifted to a light sleep, where I could still talk and move my arms. My surgeon came in the room, and he's done pretty much most of my oral surgeries with a friendly "hello", then inserting the dreaded needle into my arm. Okay, one thing, I hate needles. I think I'd rather scream and run 3 miles than have someone put a needle in my arm. But I guess it was okay since he put numbing stuff on my arm before he inserted the dreaded needle. After that, a small, single tear arose from my eye and off I was in the mystical land of sleep.
When I woke up, the nurse moved me into the "recovery room" where you pretty much just lay there on a reclined chair and sleep or something. My parents talked to the nurse and surgeon, and since I was sorta really tired and trying to recover from being out for so long, I didn't know what they were saying. Lovely stuff., huh? We left and I dove head first into my Mom's small Nissan car and fell fast asleep with the gauze in my mouth. We reached home and I immediately went in my room and fell asleep again and my mom woke me up to change the gauze every hour. Hours later, I felt as if the surgery had never even happened. And today, I'm walking around and doing whatever I did before except I'm eating less and taking some medication.(speaking of which.... I should probably take some now.)
So. If you're wondering how bad it hurts when you get your wisdom teeth out, it doesn't. If you're out unconscious you're going to feel nothin' at all and remember to take your pain killers unless you're weird and like pain or something.

Anyway, I have another thing to talk about. My camera, Alaska, is going to the Canon Camera Hospital. Tegan, my 50mm lens won't come off, and on Thursday during lunch, my parents took me to 2 Creve Ceour Camera places to see if she could be fixed, and she can not. I must say that Thursday was probably the most frustrating and stressful day. I hope Alaska and Tegan will be okay. :(

This is what my camera looks like with the 50mm lens on it.

Forever Yours

"Forever Yours" by Alex Day is probably one of the best songs I've heard in today's music. Alex Day aka Nerimon from Youtube is trying to be the first unsigned artist to get to the Christmas #1 on any charts. So far, he's made it up to #4 on the UK Charts and #25 on the US charts.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qOW2eEz9cYk

He has other versions of "Forever Yours" like "Charlie Went Mad Remix", the original demo version, the live piano version, an all-vocal version(my favorite other than the original!), a dramatic reading of the song by BillTv, and more! All the money that Alex gets from the song purchases goes to a charity called World Vision. I have a question for you, why haven't you bought "Forever Yours" yet?

Here's a link to the rest of the remixes:

Chicago Tardiscon

One of the greatest weekends I've ever had! Let's hit the bad part. Thanksgiving. I don't mind holidays that much, but at times, I really wish I wasn't there and I was somewhere else. My family goes to my grandparents house every year, but this year, since my brother is in the airforce and he's down in Texas, they went to go see him. I had a choice of going down to Texas and seeing my brother or going to Chicago Tardiscon with friends and meet Benjamin "Red Lightning" Cook, or stay home and do nothing. Well, I decided to go to Chicago Tardis and I'm super glad that I went. The six hour drive wasn't as bad as I thought because after I finished a book, I had time to sleep and be awkwardly social and stuff. The last time I went to Chicago, I was on my way to England with my class so I was expecting us to hit a few places that I went to previously(like The Bean XD).

On Friday, we arrived around 1 which was earlier than when we were supposed to be there, but our room was already ready for us so it was fine. The room that the girls had, was really nice, and I take it that the boys room was nice as well.. I didn't dare go in there. Everyone wandered around the convention and panels were going on with the Peter Davidson, who was the Fifth Doctor, and Janet Fielding, who was one of the Fifth Doctor's companions, Tegan. I didn't get to meet Peter Davidson or Janet Fielding, but I got photos of them and went to one of their panels together. They seemed like really fun people to hang out with and meet. After a couple hours, we went to the Target that was right next to the hotel and bought random things like bottled water and sticky notes. When we came back to the hotel room, there was nothing to do so Camille made a TARDIS(Time And Relative Dimensions In Space) out of blue and yellow-ish white sticky notes which turned out fantabulously and we could see it from the parking lot! While Camille was doing that, Me and Mrs. Keifer were skyping some friends that couldn't make it to Chicago Tardiscon. We were all having laughing fits for 2 hours with them and that was so much fun talking to them and their randomness. After a couple hours, everyone signed off and we noticed it wasn't too late, so we went downstairs and got autographs from Benjamin Cook. Benjamin who? Benjamin Cook is a Doctor Who journalist that has interviewed the stars of Doctor Who and he's been working for the official Doctor Who magazine since he was 13 and he's now 29-ish. I have to say, he is probably my favorite celebrity-person because he is just that awesome and cooler than the bees knees.

The TARDIS and the Dalek in sticky notes! Thanks, Camille!

On Saturday, we walked around the vendors room and went to target a few times just to do nothing and whatnot. When my little group of friends walked around the convention, we stumbled upon fantastic cosplayers that have been to much bigger conventions and have done their own major panels. Fantastic people with fantastic cosplays. We didn't really do much, but there was a wedding reception going on with LOADS of dancing and my little group of friends were invited to it! Instead, we wandered around the hotel(in the wee late hours) and danced with a real Dalek, then looked for Benjamin Cook who had just got back from the Bean and dinner with Mark Sheppard. We found him, showed him the Dalek and the Tardis(and Kalli wrote "Ben! <3" in large letters above it), he obviously loved it. We then summoned the courage to ask him for photos, and yes, we did.

This is the best photo that was taken with him. Luther and Benjamin Cook
                                                       Everyone with Benjamin Cook!

When he left, we had nothing else to do, so we wanted to go to see the Bean. It took us 2-3 hours to find the car keys which were in a pants pocket on the floor the whole time. We ventured out around 3:30 in the morning to go to the mystical Bean. The people that were with me had never been to the Bean, so I practically had to drag them. KIDDING... kind of. We had our fun of random photo taking and laughing, prancing around the beautiful Bean until the security guard came up to us saying that the park closed at 11pm and opened 7 am or so. Much to our surprise, we laughed and went to 7-11 where we got drinks and whatnots to have and walked around the sleeping city. We saw people with their luggage wandering the streets(not homeless people), homeless people, workers putting up Christmas lights on the trees, and creepers (Which we tried to avoid). We skipped, walked, and frolicked through the empty streets laughing and whatnot looking at buildings laying on the ground, looked at random shops(because we couldn't go in). We went back to the hotel around 5am and went to sleep around 5:45.

We couldn't sleep in, so we had to get up bright and early at 10 am and immediately start packing for our trip home. We saw Ben one more time and attended a couple of his panels that he was in, we didn't get to say goodbye, but we tweeted him and he would reply. So, fun stuff.
That was my weekend a while ago in November. Benjamin Cook, Tony Lee, Robert Shearman, Kalli, David, Luther, Camille, Mr. and Mrs. Keifer, Target, the Bean, the security at the Bean, twitter, replies, and just a little "hello". Those are the best things about that entire weekend.
